The Intelligent Investor: The Definitive Book on Value Investing. A Book of Practical Counsel (Revised Edition)

Benjamin Graham (Author), Jason Zweig (Author),
Warren Buffett (Collaborator)

This classic text is annotated to update Graham's timeless wisdom for today's market conditions.

The greatest investment advisor of the twentieth century, Benjamin Graham, taught and inspired people worldwide. Graham's philosophy of "value investing" - which shields investors from substantial error and teaches them to develop long-term strategies - has made The Intelligent Investor the stock market bible ever since its original publication in 1949.

Over the years, market developments have proven the wisdom of Graham's strategies. While preserving the integrity of Graham's original text, this revised edition includes updated commentary by noted financial journalist Jason Zweig, whose perspective incorporates the realities of today's market, draws parallels between Graham's examples and today's financial headlines, and gives readers a more thorough understanding of how to apply Graham's principles.

Vital and indispensable, this HarperBusiness Essentials edition of The Intelligent Investor is the most important book you will ever read on how to reach your financial goals.

“By far the best book on investing ever written.” - Warren Buffett

“If you read just one book on investing during your lifetime, make it this one” - Fortune

“The wider Mr. Graham’s gospel spreads, the more fairly the market will deal with its public.” - Barron's

This book is a must read for every investor - especially for those interested in value investing. I can only underscore Warren Buffet's opinion about this easy-to-read book: "By far the best book on investing ever written."

Security Analysis Principles and Techniques

Benjamin Graham (Author), David Dodd (Author)

Benjamin Graham's revolutionary theories have influenced and inspired investors for nearly 70 years. First published in 1934, his Security Analysis is still considered to be the value investing bible for investors of every ilk.

Yet, it is the second edition of that book, published in 1940 and long since out of print, that many experts--including Graham protégé Warren Buffet--consider to be the definitive edition. This facsimile reproduction of that seminal work makes available to investors, once again, the original thinking of "this century's (and perhaps history's) most important thinker on applied portfolio investment."

"Graham's ideas inspired the investment community for nearly a century." - Smart Money

"Graham's method of investing is as relevant today as it was when he first espoused it during the Roaring Twenties." - Investor's Business Daily

The Interpretation of Financial Statements

Benjamin Graham (Author), Spencer B. Meredith (Author), Michael F. Price (Introduction)

Benjamin Graham has been called the most important investment thinker of the twentieth century. As a master investor, pioneering stock analyst, and mentor to investment superstars, he has no peer.

The volume you hold in your hands is Graham's timeless guide to interpreting and understanding financial statements. It has long been out of print, but now joins Graham's other masterpieces, The Intelligent Investor and Security Analysis, as the three priceless keys to understanding Graham and value investing.

The advice he offers in this book is as useful and prescient today as it was sixty years ago. As he writes in the preface, "if you have precise information as to a company's present financial position and its past earnings record, you are better equipped to gauge its future possibilities. And this is the essential function and value of security analysis."

"All investors, from beginners to old hands, should gain from the use of this guide, as I have."
From the Introduction by Michael F. Price, president, Franklin Mutual Advisors, Inc.

I recommend this book only to those investors who are not familiar with terms like intangible assets, net current assets and current ratio. In this book Benjamin Graham not only explains these terms but he also informs you how to use them as you are analysing a company's financial statements.

Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits and Other Writings

Philip A. Fisher (Author), Kenneth L. Fisher (Introduction)

Widely respected and admired, Philip Fisher is among the most influential investors of all time. His investment philosophies, introduced almost forty years ago, are not only studied and applied by today's financiers and investors, but are also regarded by many as gospel.

This book is invaluable reading and has been since it was first published in 1958. The updated paperback retains the investment wisdom of the original edition and includes the perspectives of the author's son Ken Fisher, an investment guru in his own right in an expanded preface and introduction.

"I sought out Phil Fisher after reading his Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits...A thorough understanding of the business, obtained by using Phil's techniques...enables one to make intelligent investment commitments." - Warren Buffet

I especially liked the chapter: The Fifteen Points to Look for in a Common Stock and Mr. Fisher's thoughts about When to Buy and Sell.

Victor Rudenno (Author)

Globally, equity markets have experienced a rollercoaster of fortunes in recent years, particularly in resource and commodity prices. The Mining Valuation Handbook is the most comprehensive guide to mining valuation on the market. This third edition provides up-to-date information and unravels some of the mystery surrounding the resources industry.
